๐Ÿ… The Magic of a Canned Tomato: Meals That Start With One Can

There’s something quietly magical about a canned tomato.

It waits patiently on the shelf—humble, unassuming—until the day you reach for it with a sigh and think, “Alright, let’s see what we can make out of this.”

What follows might just surprise you.

๐Ÿฅซ Why This Series Exists

I’ve always kept canned tomatoes in the pantry. They’re a quiet staple—reliable, versatile, and endlessly forgiving. But I realized recently that I tend to use them the same way, over and over again.

This series is my way of breaking that habit—of trying new things, one can at a time.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be cooking through a dozen meals I’ve never made before, all starting with canned tomatoes. Each one will be cooked right here in my cozy kitchen, photographed in natural light (with a bit of clutter still on the counter), and shared with you—flavor notes, flops, and all.

๐Ÿ—’️ What’s Cooking?

Here’s the list I’ll be working through—check back as I update each one with photos, reflections, and whether or not I’d make it again:

⬜ Tomato Sauce with Onion and Butter
⬜ Tomato and Ricotta Caprese Dip
⬜ Nigerian Chicken Stew
⬜ Best Marinara Sauce Yet
⬜ Shakshuka
⬜ D’s Famous Salsa
⬜ Garlic Shrimp in Tomato Sauce
⬜ Tomato Chicken Pasta Soup
⬜ Chashushuli (Georgian Beef and Tomato Stew)
⬜ Roasted Tomato Pissaladiรจre
⬜ American Goulash
⬜ Huevos Rabo de Mestiza

Bonus:
⬜ Fideo (sauce-based, not canned tomatoes)

๐Ÿงก Come Along for the Stir

This isn’t a recipe collection. It’s a kitchen experiment—seasoned with curiosity, a dash of courage, and maybe a little leftover garlic on the cutting board.

Whether you’re a fellow pantry cook or just someone who appreciates a cozy kitchen adventure, I hope you’ll follow along.

Check back here for updates, or follow the ๐Ÿฅซ Pantry Pull-Togethers label to see each new recipe as it’s posted.

And if you’ve got a tomato-based recipe I should absolutely try—drop it in the comments. I’d love to hear.
